Retiring my old web site - and moving to a new one!

Dante, its SO good to read your website with black text and a clear background. The one thing that always pulled me off your old website was that black background with white fonts. It killed my eyes.
It also looks great now! very stylish and modern.
congrats.
 
Kudos. I have always been inspired by and relied upon your gear reviews. I don't always agree with your conclusions, only about 98.8% of the time...

Oops, just looked... Apologies for saying, just my 2 cents
but I did prefer the ‘look’ of your okd site, more nostalgic, atmospheric...
visually the new site looks a tad too clean,sharp- clinical
Probably I just need to get use to it, warm up to it
 
Dante - I’ve been a fan of your old site for many years. I will miss seeing “Get Back to Work” on the browser tab! I hope you will consider moving (nearly) all the content over to themachineplanet. The new site is quite good, but I will miss the older stuff. You write with both style and good form. (You are right to dump that hosting company - that thing has been wonky!)

New AF Hexar page is up - with some hopefully interesting information on the lineage of its AF system. Plus lots of diagrams.

Anyway, the feedback so far has been good on the black-text-on-white; if anything else looks off, please let me know. Some camera pictures have to be re-shot for the white background (the light tent is coming tomorrow), so pictures may be sparse at first.

I am going to leave this thread alone now, but if you want to be on live updates as things get rolled back on, follow @dantestellacom on Twitter. It tweets when new posts get put on.

Thank you Dante for some very interesting reading. I also like the "old stuff." I think the web site of Erwin Puts is not as interesting as it used to be because he has removed "obsolete" items. But lots of us are using old stuff which is functionally as good as new stuff.
 
Ok. Brought back the old site on a newer hosting service. I think all the technical stuff is back up where it belongs, though I need to fix the formatting on some of it.
