Hi there,

I'm looking for money, as most college students are. Recently my family came to me because I have a scanner and I know how to use photoshop. They wanted me to scan some old photos of our relatives and touch them up. Since this work wasn't too bad, as I am interested in family history, old photography, etc. I enjoyed doing this work. However, this doesn't pay, as it is for my family.

So my question is; can any money be made advertising this kind of service? I have seen a couple of California or Nevada based groups that do this for $30-$300 depending on the job, but they have tons of examples in the portfolios and lots of rep (apparently.) Also, there is the market for people who are willing to change other people's appearances in photos (like when you see any celebrity in a magazine). This is NOT the kind of work I want to do, but I fear that's what re-touching has become.

If I started advertising this sort of service -one person, small jobs, moderate-to-very old photo fixing- do you think there is any market?

Thanks,

koniczech
