I just received this clip on light meter from a kickstarter project from Reveni Labs

Certainly is compact - will check it out in practice today

This type of display makes me wonder how it rounds. Rounding up is my usual strategy, with neg film, but that requires more information than this gives... I like that is has an EV display option!
 
The Reveni arrived earlier this week and have learned a lot over the last few days. The meter offers EV and after trying to match it with my Sekonic 308, I found EV was the most effective. The meter offers both Exposure Compensation, from -2 to +2 in 1/3 stops. It also offers a calibration mode, -20 to +20 with each unit equal to .01 EV. Using a gray card and setting the Sekonic to EV mode, the by first adjusting the Exposure Compensation to get close then by fine tuning with the calibration mode. Both meters read fairly close with a similar scene, the Reveni has a much wider angle of view so it often reads higher. I used it on my M4 with about half a roll of Kodak XX and the result were quite good. The exposures needed a bit of adjusting after scanning and I may bump the Exposure Compensation up another notch to see if it makes any difference. It's nice to have a small, light weight meter to mount on the accessory shoe. The OLED display is easy to read even in bright sun with the auto off option ranging from five to 30 seconds. The tiny buttons are kind of a pain but I'm getting use to them. I love my Sekonic but the little Reveni is so much more convenient.
 
Took the M4 out with a Voigtlander Heilar 50 2.0 Collapsable and a 022 yellow filter. The film is Kodak XX, exposed at ISO 125 then developed for 4.5 minutes in HC-110B. Camera scan was with a Sony A7II using a Micro-Nikkor 55 2.8 Ai-S and a PK-13 extension ring. The light source was a Skier Copybox. Editing was done with RAW Power plug in for Apple Photos. All the captures were RAW and the only adjustment was to add .33 EV to the original exposure. The Reveni was set for +0.33 EV and the calibration was set to 0. For the next trip out I moved the EV on the Reveni to +.067 and see how that works.

One of the drawbacks is on a Leica the meter overhangs the accessory shoe just a bit. On the M cameras it blocks the shutter speed mark, on the Barnack's it interferes with lifting the dial to change speeds.
