Revue 400 SE / RICOH 500 GX / CANONET 28

Who can show me pictures captured with one of those two RF ?

Interested to buy both of them but I'm curious and want to taste them before :D

The Revue because it seems to be a "clone" of the Minolta 7S II ? But cheaper...

The Ricoh because,... I don't know...

The Canonet 28 because it was the RF of my father,... and just want to have the same one.

I own both. I don't use them often, but both are nice cameras. The Canonet 28 has a more solid feel to it, but the Revue 400SE has the superior lens. The color shot was made with the Canonet, the B+W shot with the Revue. Both are rather cheap carry-in-your-pocket cameras.

Hi Wim, thanks for your pictures, "cheap carry-in-your-pocket cameras" that's exactly what I like in those cameras. These are better "bloc notes" than every digital compact,... to my eyes of course.
 
I started on a Ricoh 500GX, but I just lent it to someone so I can't go shoot something with it for you.

I'll see if I can't find some of the old negs from it and get one scanned.

it's a fantastic camera. The meter (at least in mine) is dead on. Lens is good and sharp with very pleasant contrast and it has as very quiet shutter.
 
Revue 400se is very nice. Dont know the others. You need the 675 battery, or equivalent.

the scans are not of very good quality, but may be they help anyway.
 
I like the Revue 400 SE (aka Vivitar 35ES) very much. Excellent lens, shutter priority and no manual control. I like it more than the Ricoh 500ME I owned.
 
I have a Canonet 28, which I rarely use as I generally take something with more control (an Olympus (35SP or XA) or my Yashica GTN)
But the Canonet is small, has a fairly sharp lens, has exposure lock. and is very easy to use.

I've read that the Vivitar 35ES is the same camera as the Revue 400SE. I put a test roll through the 35ES I picked up off EBay, and am very happy with the results. It seems really sharp with the prints from a short roll of XP2. I think this is going to become my new "carry everywhere" camera.
 
The vivitar 35es was my first 35mm camera I owned. In the time I had it I only got a couple sharp pictures with it. Maybe mine was a dud or back then I was not using it very well. At that time I could not wait to get an SLR since everyone else seemed to have Canon AE-1s.
