Well, I shot with my parents Silette for 2 weeks, then realized the shutter may be a little off. So I bought a Q17 GIII and have shot with that for a week now. I love it!

Well, last night I ran across an Olympus SPn on Ebay and.....well....got that one too....

Grrr....Is there help for this? I am going to keep some FP4 in the Canon and FP5 in the Olympus. Is that justification enough to have bought it.... :D

I keep telling myself yes...I think I may need one more for ISO 800 ;)

What do you all think?

:bang:

What I do when equipment envy starts acting up, is to spend a little time away from the internet. Go out, take pictures and enjoy the results...

one camera for every asa film?

i like it!

now, let's see...i like 3200, gotta have 400 and a c41 b&w film, maybe something really slow, at least 100, maybe 50...;):)

pvdhaar - yeah, I shoot mainly on the weekends. During the week, I surf while waiting for work to come in....

:)

You need one for each film AND each lens length you like. Only then will you feel complete.

and that is my plan!
screw mount cameras are fine if you have one body for each lens.
what could be simpler?

Hmmm. You should look at Medium Format rangefinders. That's like going from a drinking problem straight to Morphine addiction.

There.is.nothing.you.can.do. You are doomed, you are on the slippery slope. The only thing that you might do to save yourself is to STAY AWAY FROM RUSSIAN STUFF! If you touch this realm, you are instantly, irrevocably damned. I have just gotten another one, a beautiful, perfectly operating Kiev 4 (even the meter is spot on!) and another Smena... and right after I get done here, it's back to eBay to see what's out there.
Do' svedanyah!

Russian stuff....ya don't say. Hmmm.....I will look, just look, I promise I won't touch the credit card.

Down AMEX DOWN! Back in that wallet....

Ah, Iskra... the best of all the worlds at once - Russian medium format folder with coupled rangefinder and a tessar lens...

:)

did anyone notice my (cosmetically excellent) non-working fed 2 w/ industar 61 in the for trade thread?
the film does not advance...might be a good 'learn how to repair' camera.

How much and what kind of film would you like? I also make leather camera straps -- see page 28 of "Camera and Coffee" for the leather strap on my Zorki 6. I could provide a better picture of the strap.

hey gordon,

i mostly use wrist straps and just made a deal with rover for his cv strap...bad timing.

lately i have been using xp2 for the ease of lab processing & scanning.
you can decide on how many. i have no idea of the pricing in your neck of the woods.
the fed 2 also came with a leather case and you can have it also.
if nothing else the lens is usable as is.
p.m. me your address and i'll get it into the mail this week.

THE RUSSIAN STUFF! My preciousssssssssss!

Gordon understands.
The cameras lead to the language, the language leads you to the literature, next you are seduced by the philosophy, then---- REVOLUTION! You are not only a collector of rangefinders, you are a COMMUNIST collector of rangefinders, searching the web endlessly for bits of information about your Zorkis, FEDs, and Kievs, and how they might be used in order to change the future of mankind....
