RF dumb mistakes....

Yesterday I shot a whole roll-all 36 frames -using the 50mm framelines. I was shooting a 75mm on a .85x... M6ttl (my fav. setup). So I guess I'll have lot's of photos of people with their heads cut off...me so bad!

sorry to hear that 🙁 i do not know it's common to other members but it also happened to me ...
Anyway, about typical RF users mistakes I remeber posting my "long list" in a similar thread some weeks ago ...

Not that this should make you feel better, but you're not alone. I recently shot a roll at one of my kids' track meets using my 90 Elmarit, which I don't often use. Most of the action shots ended up with headless bodies!

Leica framelines aren't quite exact, so you may be surprised when you see your pictures not matching the image you saw in your viewfinder. Enjoy! 🙂

Whatever the merits of RF's vs. SLRs may be, there's one incontrovertible advantage to SLRs: You're not likely to see much in the viewfinder with the lens cap on!! I have both types, and even my Leica M4-2 can take a perfectly exposed shot of the inside of the lens cap, unless it's removed. Of course, "perfectly exposed" is open to debate.

As for the framelines, they automatically adjust when you change lenses. And there's a control on the front of the camera to try other frames to see what would happen. Someone mentioned altering the lens mount slightly to change the frame from, say 50mm to 40mm. Hey folks, this is Leica - you don't play with success.
