Well I bought an Olympus SPn and well, it needs a CLA pretty bad. :bang:
For the cost of the CLA, I bought another one...shhhh....
The other one I bought should be in better condition.
Should I:
1. CLA the SPn then resell it
2. Resell it on Ebay and probably take a loss...
3. CLA it and keep it?
Or maybe someone here is interested in it....Its on its way now to "PhotoSphere Olympus Camera Service" for an CLA estimate..
If someone here wants it, we can work out a deal and you can pay to have it CLA'd since its already there....

How much would the CLA be?
The best for you financially would be to resell it, stating that a CLA is needed.

Can you be more specific with the problems? Is the shutter stuck; wind rough; other problems that prevent use... OR is the VF/RF dirty, sleals shot, etc.
This runs the range from a $70 CLA to a DIY repair. That makes a big difference in getting it reapired, to selling or trading it, to fixing it yourself.

Seals need replaced. Shutter and meter are both fine. It needs a general cleaning. Nothing else. I was quoted about $70. The lens has a couple of spots on it that I could not clean with a brush. They were not fungus. Also the front filter ring had a slight dent.
Agh, I guess I will wait for a quote then have her returned...

Seals are easy; you can use foam pads with adhesive to foam packing material and glue. Lens cleaning fluid is available at any decent camera shop. If the coating is "damaged", has cleaning marks, etc even the $70 CLA will not repair it.
If you have bought a 2nd one already, sell it at a loss or trade it here for another camera.
