Hello,

First I will tell you a little about myself to give you some contex about my question.

I currently shoot with a Nikon D100 and various lenses. I've been attracted to Rangefinders for a while and have been lurking this forum since.

I bought a Yashica GSN to try the rangefinder concept. I did not find the focusing to be easy at all.

Perhaps the GSN's patch is too small or not good enough?
Perhaps I did not use it enough to get accustomed to it?
Perhaps rangefinders are simply not for me?

I am nonetheless still attracted to rangefinders.

So here is my question: Anybody used both a Bessa (R2A/R3A) and a GSN and tell me if I can expect the RF patch/focusing to be better on a R2A/R3A?

Your help is very much appreciated.

FYI: I'm currently considering the purchase of a G1 or a R2A/R3A.

Thanks in advance.

Pascal

Using the R3A and a GTN as a reference point, the viewfinder and RF-patch on the Bessa are far better.

For the most part, while I haven't owned them all, most compact rangefinders will not have viewfinders that compare favorably to the Bessas.

Pascal, I started on a GTN before getting my R2a - the R2a viewfinder/rangefinder is like day and night when compared with the G{T,S}N - especially if you had an uncleaned dirty GSN viewfinder to begin with.
