RF Photo-Challenge Germany

I don't know if you know the Leica Photochallenges which are held here and there (now and then) ... I find the idea pretty good and fun (if you'r not caught up between 20 - 30 odd dedicated leica technocrats/collectors) and I was wondering if such a thing could be made available in Germany. I have no idea how many German residents/people living in germany that is are a member of this forum. Perhaps such a thing could be organized.
Apart from the contest part it would be nice to get together and chat about RF and other things, make it a day, or perhaps two or three ..... ??

Based on your blog this challenge sounds really interesting. So is the point of it just to meet, talk and shoot together, or will the results of your "challenge day" be later on posted somewhere on the web? And can one bring any rangefinder? I can't afford a leica.

Lubitel, people met in Amsterdam around noon and then went out for about 3 hours to shoot a max of 1 roll with 1 camera and 1 lens (to be announced by you before going out). The theme was X-mas and Amsterdam. All shots had to be taken by Leica gear, either camera or lens. For instance, there was a man who used a Leica R 50mm lens on his Canon Eos.

You'd develop your film and upload your best shot to the dedicated gallery. From these shots, the best would be chosen and awarded some prize.

I did participate but didn't shoot anything worthwhile, even though I live in Amsterdam. So, no uploaded photo for me, and no chance of winning. But it was nice to meet some other Leica/ RF people.

I have no clue how many German members we have here , I know five only but I suppose more Germans beeing here and if we would count in the German speaking members from Austria or Switzerland we could get enuff folks together for a RF contest meeting anywhere in Europe.

A friend from England has taken part at the latest Amsterdam meeting and as he reported to me it was a nice event. The next Leica meeting will be in Paris in October.
I'll try to find out where in the www the photos of the Amsterdam contest are presented, there have been some real top photogs among the participants.
