I totally agree that the Lanc is awesome and the merlins provide a symphony but I believe there are two airworthy Lancs in the world. The other is in the Battle of Britain Memorial flight in England. I think one of it's pilots is a member here.

My father was a WWII pilot and wing commander of a Lancaster Bomber Squadron flying out of Alexandria Egypt. He said flying those planes "you had to be tough" it was a physically demanding plane to fly according to him. He got blown out of the air flying below radar over the Aegean Sea en route to Germany. A German doctor rescued my father and put him back together. It saved his life, and he's still alive today.
