I often use my 100mm lens for portraits. But I prefer f/5.5 or f/8 to get enough DOF.

I use the 100mm lens frequently on my RF645. It's a super lens, and I don't find it difficult at all. Remember, it's only equivalent to a 65mm lens on a 35mm camera. How many people on this forum contentedly use 75mm and 90mm lenses (or even 135s!) on their Leicas and other rangefinders? I can't imagine how small those framelines must be in their viewfinders, which -- I would guess -- are smaller than the RF645's to begin with. In my experience, you quickly get used to the 100 on the RF645.

Agreed, Carl; the 100 is short enough for a general "walk-around" lens, as one can think of it as a "long normal." Very useful!

Count me in as Nº 26 (or is that 27...?). I nearly sold my kit (45 and 65 lenses) twice!!! Fortunately I didn´t... Mine is nª 1000201, bouth new from Robert White. Wish I had purchased the 135 that he had available (with body calibration included) at the time, they where discontinued very shortly after...I also wonder how many were sold?

Welcome to RFF, Micke! I have the same kit, with great fondness. One of my bodies has the 135mm viewfinder framelines but I'm unlikely to ever find the affordable lens.

BTW, I find the Polarizer kit very useful. In addition to working beautifully with slide film, I use the viewfinder bracket to get pseudo-TTL metering with my yellow, orange, green, and red filters. I screw a 43mm version into the PL viewfinder bracket and a 58mm filter on the lens-- then I don't have to think about filter factors and exposure compensation. I pretty much keep the PL bracket on the camera permanently.

Does anyone else do this?

I just put the exp. compensation on +1 2/3 or the iso 1 2/3 lower.
I use two polarisers and have engraved markings on the rim. I can then use one to get the direction right and transfer that to the one on the lens. Like the Kenko system but much cheaper.

Ok Doug, I see what I can do about my signature.

Btw on of my bodies has as well 135mm frames, but I guess it will be very ard to find a 135mm lens.
