That J-3 that Gabriel is using is from the first batch that I bought to take apart. The J-3 had such a horrible reputation for inconsistent results that I wanted to determine the cause. So I bought 5 lenses to experiment with. The one used for the above photo is made from the best parts of two lenses, neither was usable when I received them. As it turns out, years later, it is one of the sharpest J-3's that I've ever seen.

That's about the equivalent of this thread. It promotes and accentuates disagreements on RFF. If anything, it's proven that threads here can run amuck and out of control. If the Forum is so great, we do not need to proclaim it from the highest mountain. People will find it on their own and value it for useful information given and quality images presented. It simply does not need a Sermon or whatever else this thread is.
At least I put up some images combined with talking about gear and fast cars.
No one has forced you to take part and you could avoid taking part, unless you felt the urge to express here your disagreement - which of course you have the right to.
What it seems to me you have not the right to, is to hijack the thread in order to speak about such unrelated issues as you have done, and even worse, to do it as an indirect method of attrition. True, you have not been the first in that, but you took your share, to the surprise of many I believe.
I have posted consistent views. If you have anything to say about the issues under debate - please say what you have. This will be much better than deviating the issues towards the J-3. Or at least it will be a correct behaviour.
As for adding on top of all this taking advantage of the thread to publicize your own images - that's just bad taste.
