Hey Lorenzo! I saw your stuff on Flickr but wondered whether you'd forgotten about this place.

So, are we saying London? Weekend of 6-8 May?

Nothing wrong with those places and I'm sure they all have a lot to offer us as photographers but there is a small point in having the meet in (or near) a bigger city when it comes to transports. I would love to go to both Santiago and Bilbao for the food and the nature but it's at least triple the cost of going to London, Berlin or Paris.
Guess you're right, I was just thinking of cities with airport facilities. But on cost, in Santiago you can have a single room for €20...

But for me, London is too big for just a weekend. Haven't been there for some years and I'd like too see too many places apart from you guys.

Well, lets just see what happens...

Best of luck,

Jeroen

you know you're allowed to stay for longer 😉

Anywhere is too big for a weekend. But as Simon said, people do come earlier and go home later.

We should discuss dates, the weekend of the 6-8 May is good for travel prices, later weekends in May are also good and we'd be able to get Michiel along.

The week end of 6-8 may is utmost fortunate for me as I will return from Anglesey seakayak symposium on friday the 6th and my mates will be very glad to throw me out of the Van in the vicinity of the M25 (the sign of odegra) the only problem will be me smelling a little but hey you seem a tough bunch.

Cheers,

Wim

Hey Wim, I can scrape you off the M25 and get the garden hose on you with some bleach if that's the case. Perhaps find you somewhere to kip too.

Great Kully, I will bring you some B beer but it might not make it thru the preceding week.
Wales does that to a man.

I would love to camp in your garden 😀

Sure I'm allowed, but maybe my allowance won't be up to it...:bang:

As a freelancer, I've less and less holidays and clients just love to screw up my time schedule... So goodbye cheap flight tickets!

If we say London it could be usefull if we stay more or less in the same part of it in order to minimize travelling time from one side to the other, London is not a small city! Just an idea, ciaso

robert

the transport system in (central) London, if not the cheapest, is quite good. you can easily travel between different parts of town without much hassle. I've been to Notting Hill, the area around Liverpool Street Stn, up Brick Lane and into Hackney, then down to Millennium Bridge and City of London and then up to Soho within a day (on my own though, not with a big group of geezers). Also, I liked taking photos in the subways (the light is better than in Berlin's U- and S-Bahn.)
Of course you can't cover all of London within 2-3 days, but those who were in Berlin faced the same 'problem', still had fun and didn't stay in one single part of town either (although you folks still missed a lot if I might say so 😀 )
I will probably stay in Oxford, most certainly if my girlfriend comes along, so I'm bound to deal with some travel time. But I did enjoy the 'early' train rides to Paddington Station the last time.

Kully, what about dropping Robert (De La Luz) a line about the meet?

yes, london, decided by our very own take at democracy. hah. everyone who unfortunately cannot make it to london on whatever weekend will be fixed eventually is invited to meet up in amsterdam instead. we could afterwards discuss which group was the better-looking one.
