RFF EuroMeet, Florence, April 10-11 2010

For his flickr activity seems that he's on Mozambique...
Simon i can contact him through facebook, let me know if you don't have any answer!;)

Is the plan to stay mainly in Florence or to visit the surroundings too ? (Pisa, Lucca, Siena, etc).
Asking just to plan logistic for me and wife.
Weìll be there for the weekend.

Robert,

From what I understand the "official" meeting will be in Florence only. However it seems a few of us (me, Kully, Simon, Yanidel) are heading for Pisa and Lucca as well, probably on Thursday and Friday respectively.

I just booked my flights, arriving in Bologna 11:15 Thursday and leaving again on Sunday at 17:45. Kully, Simon and Yanidel with their respective girlfriends are all flying in and out of Pisa and I'm catching a train there (flying to Pisa was almost twice the price of my current ticket).

Looking forward to seeing you all again!

I'll be down in Florence for the week end, not sure if my wife can get a couple of days free (it's difficult!) and stay longer. ciao

I'd definitely be interested in any side trips -- when/where were you thinking of meeting on the Thursday?

Not a clue yet, Lawrence! I just summarized what people have written earlier in this thread. At least Yannick and Simon with their girlfriends (Kully too if I remember correctly) are arriving in Pisa on Thursday morning/midday so I figure we'll meet somewhere around there. By the Leaning Tower maybe? :)

I guess it will become more organized as we get closer to the date and know the definitive list of people coming to the meet.
Indeed, my girlfriend and I will arrive in Pisa on thursday in the afternoon (14h). I guess the best is to set a meeting hour that day depending on when most arrive. Others can catch up, a mobile phone list will be shared and Pisa is not big.
Lucca could happen Friday by leaving early and returning in the afternoon. Apparently, a bus joins Pisa and Lucca and go through very charming towns, it is a 30 minutes ride so it can definitely be done in one day. It can also be done by train or rental car.
Then on late afternoon, we could catch a train to Florence.

Great news Emil - I was wondering whether you might be able to make it at all.

I have also booked my flights (Wednesday night thru Monday). My wife won't be coming - however a friend of mine will.

I've booked a Panda for the stay so getting about for us plus 2-3 more will be cool.

Thursday for Pisa and surrounds and Friday for Lucca and surrounds sounds good so far. However, we should wait for advise from the Tuscans - they may be able to suggest a better itinerary (Pisa+Lucca one day and some small villages another day).

yes, the two of us will spend the first night in Pisa (or Lucca maybe? depending on where we can find a cheap hostel), heading to Florence on Friday.

and since nobody has started yet, let me ask a hypothetical question: anyone having a 35mm summicron for sale? :D :D :D

I might have one, I haven't decided what to do my with my lenses after I sold my M6 a while ago. I have a Summicron 35/2 v4 and an Elmar 50/2.8 v1 that I'll probably sell. Why don't you give me an offer, Simon?
