That is still a pretty early s/n, before the quality deteriorated ... I think both of ours are in the first 10,000 of M6's.

Hey Joe!.. (c) Jimi..., I will wait for photos of those old beautys of yours...

If this list is open to all Leica rangefinders, than this one is surely worth a beer:

Sorry man, I guess this one is not for this list... ;)

Paul, you have such sweets... Two MPs of wich I could only dream...

But then again, write please your hammertones vertion number "????/1000" and PLEASE, I really wouldn't mind if you would write your list information as it is in the example in the first post...

Sorry Volodimir, didn't mean to make more work for you :D

MP #2947583
MP-3 #3026979 (274/1000)
IIIf #728490
II #275573

The Hammertone MPs are not numbered in a series, so it comes with just the serial number on the top plate.

Helen, I have a 50/2 cron on my IIIf and a very old 28/6.3 on my II. These cameras are serious fun, everyone should give them a try...

Well, I am considering IIIg, for time after 40... Hope I can buy it by then... And there will be somebody to make it CLA, and some chemistry to make true photos...

My Leica M2 by courtesy lion, on Flickr

M2 #1051036 (1962), Eugene Lee (dragunov), Canada.

possibly the ugliest on the list so far. :D

I bought it off Mukul (Payasam) almost a year ago with a bad curtain. some time before that, it must have been professionally used- it's very abused, with dents on the shutter speed dial at pretty much every speed, most so at flash sync. it's been hit so hard that there's the imprint of the knurling of the rewind knob on the top cover.
last week, I dropped it while climbing a bit of a rocky slope. the rock had a couple scrapes. my M2's so ugly I couldn't tell the difference- but the RF was knocked out of alignment and the shutter wouldn't release without persuasion.

next time, I'll take better care ( and bring one camera only!). for now, screwdrivers it is. ;)

... I do my own repairs! I fixed the shutter release thingy in five minutes, the RF adjustment would take me maybe ten... but I think I'm gonna do a check up on some other stuff while I'm at it...

we'll see if it's served me well when I get those kodachromes processed...

Sweet set. I'm loving the Black M3.

What film is that in the Silver M3 with the box tab in the shoe?
