To the OP, I have since sold this IIIc and now own the M4-2 shown here, with serial number 1468896. The strange thing about the serial number is it is listed as a Leitz Portugal Green R3 on the Cameraquest Leica M and SLR Serial Number and Date page. I am not sure if that implies anything significant though.

got it , I'll have to re-shoot them since I don't make a habit of including the serial number in the photo. I understand completely why you would want it.
