I'm using google chrome and over the past weeks I've been getting a "not secure" message in the address bar for the RFF home page and various other RFF pages, forums and galleries.

"Your connection is not secure.
Attackers might be able to see the images you're looking at on this site and trick you by modifying them."

Has anyone else had this and is there a remedy?

Safari here. In additional to the "checking browser" splash screen, once it does connect to RFF, no images appear. For example, if I click an uploaded image link in a classified ad, no image. Makes it difficult to see what our fellow RFFers are offering up in our time of need.

Firefox here. Message checking your browser etc...in the beginning. Than once entered RFF seems ok, gallery visible. I didn't chek the classified.

For threads here with normal but perhaps now somewhat unusual http:// URLs for images your modern browser may well complain since you do get the image(s) over an unencrypted connection while the forum page is encrypted.

OTOH, I for one, is not interested in running a https:// (as opposed to http://) server to supply my images.

That some members link using http:// instead of https:// ?

It is not as if https:// is "safe" when the source is not well known so the safety is not much better than using http:// for this kind of forum where most people provide images by their own.
