RFF's software was updated to the lastest version yesterday.

Hopefully that alone will solve many site problems with less problematic software.

Please post here if you notice something not right with the new software -
a new prob or an old one which is still with us.

The other RFF update threads will be closed, but not deleted,
as many of those probs may be solved or changed now.

Thank You,
Stephen

Not much of a difference either way. I was able to look at my own profile for a moment there, imagine. Then I got kicked out again, and the UI reverted to default, too.

I use Chrome. Firefox and Edge have a combined market share of less than 10%.

Could you possibly get rid of the "Invalid Page URL" notification? It makes no sense to have something like that show every time one either just brings up the site or logs on. It can confuse many into thinking the site doesn't work and cause them to leave.

If at all possible, could we please get the "Preview on Hover" for posts on the Most Recent posts page (my opening page)??? This option works if you go into an individual forum listing.

Under Gallery > Edit My Photos, any changes are not being saved after hitting Apply Edits and Saved appears.

Not necessarily a software problem, but some lenses seem to have dropped off...

Canon LTM 35mm f2.8
Leica LTM 90mm f4 Elmar (present, but as over-specific "1957")
Leica LTM 135mm f4.5 Hektor.

Also, on the lens list, someone appears to have had a few Spinal Tap moments with units.

Not necessarily a bug, so feel free to move or delete if this is the wrong place. In the gallery, I can't just park my mouse on the page and easily scroll down to view images with my mouse wheel. Each photo has a drop-down menu that shows name, photographer, and other information. When I scroll, this menu shows up whenever I stop, and covers the image that is below it so I have to move my mouse to see that photo, which then opens another drop-down menu which covers another photo. When I get to the bottom of the page, a menu from the bottom row of photos covers the buttons to go to the next page. I've not found a way to turn off the drop-down menus, and find myself having to dodge around the menus as I look through the page.

Also, the Gallery drop-down menu at the top of the page has two lines of text superimposed over each other at a few points.

One other thing that has bugged me from the very first time the "New" forum was activated, and that is when I go to log-on, for the auto-fill it shows two usernames that I use on other sites, but not the one I use here. It makes me wonder just who designed the software to go looking into the user's Internet presence for a user name instead of applying the one used on this site. It's things like that which makes me wonder if my personal information from here is being sold.

For the last week or so, I have been experiencing a problem with Notifications. Instead of "[username] made a post on your subscription: [Title of subscribed thread]", I get the following (& the link doesn't work):

45070 made a post on your subscription: https://www.rangefinderforum.com/node/4786557

Same here: the link in the notification send me to " Invalid Page URL" message

You have to tell us what exactly supposed to be fixed. Because at this moment nothing seems to be fixed, except new bug with notifications.
Then upgrade brings such bug, it shows what forum engine support, developing is just lame.

Again, if you are financially strangled to get normal, common forum engine, lets do fundraising.

I’m new to RFF. I like the user interface but since I never used the old one, I can’t compare them. A general question about RFF: What happened to the Nikon Historical Society Web site? If I put in the URL for it, I wind up on some Thai gambling (?) site. Was the domain name hijacked?

Count me in on that bug also. Since it was just one thread that a couple of members replied to it was easy to figure out what it was by just going through the "Today's Posts", looking for any thread that I may have started. With multiple Notifications that would be more difficult.

The Nikon Historical Society gave up their HTML site last year, and are now on Facebook.

That's not an RFF problem (well... not per se), but a browser one.

The auto-fill is stored in your browser and RFF will only get the information when you choose one of the entries and send it to the servers by pressing enter/clicking OK/whatever. As such, nothing is being sold, or not secure. No worries there.

The bigger question is what's going on at the RFF or browser level that means the auto-fill information from two totally different sites are both being called up in the same place. If the other site also runs on vBulletin, my first guess would be that your browser can't distinguish between them for some reason. If the other site is something totally different, your browser's doing something totally screwy, and RFF is totally off the hook.
