RFF very slow tonight - just me??

That bug - submitted-but-not-yet-paid-for ads showing up on the front page - has been around for a long time. The slowness just makes it appear more often, since people try submitting multiple times.

i don't think thats a bug...i think folks don't read the instructions, get impatient and hit the button a few times and then the ad shows up a few times.
i will say that it is a major pita to clean up for the mods!

Yep.. I concur - I would agree here - regardless though - it still seems sort of sluggish. I know that the hosting company must be working on it though because Joe submitted info to Stephen hours ago. These things sometimes take time :)

Cheers,

That people are impatient is not a bug, no... although maybe a human one ;) That's one issue, the other issue is that ads that haven't yet been paid for show up on the front page (no matter if the person has submitted it one time or five times), and that's definitely a software bug (the actual classifieds index page doesn't have this issue). Should be a one-minute fix if you just compare the database query used for the front page ads list with the query used for the classified index, and add the missing check for payment status.

One could also add a line of Javascript to the ad submission page to make it impossible to hit Submit more than once.
