I have an assignment in the New Orleans area the week of December 2. I'm doing a series of stories and photo-essays on the rebuilding of New Orleans with a focus on migrant labor pools. I'll have a photography student tagging along too.
Just looking to meet some local shooters, hang out in the evenings and get the heads-up on some great locations to shoot and meet people. With the theme of the stories it would be especially great to be in areas that have just begun rebuilding or those who have recovered.
We're set to have a pretty full daytime schedule on Monday-Wednesday and will probably head back Wednesday evening or Thursday morning. If you have any suggestions for people/groups/places to see or meet we can probably squeeze a few in.
We don't have anything planned in the French Quarter/Bourbon Street but would like to get down there to hear some music if Tuesday or Wednesday nights are a possibility.
Post here and/or pm me and we can go from there. Finally, if you have time and are interested in coming along to the sites and agencies I'll be working with I'm sure that would be fine.
