Sorted that one out. Its doesn't seem to like NiMH rechargeable batteries. Put some alkalines in and its hunky dory. The manual is up at

Good old mike butkus. I think I'll put some film in this one and see what it can do.

yes, FF-70 is same as FF-90, latter being for U.S. market.

Thanks for the super quick reply. That would be right! The US get 20 more thingys on theirs for no apparent reason. Noisy little beast isn't it?
