Anyone know whether Ricoh still replaces these, or am I out of luck? Thanks.

I believe Ricoh in Japan still handles them. Do you have a Ricoh distributor near you? If you don't, you'll probably need help from japanexposures or japancamerahunter to help you with it.

Here's an older thread on GR-1 service. I too am still looking for someone who can repair my broken GR-1.

I had mine repaired by cris-cam or was it Chris-cam in Arizona two years ago. It cost $120 for labor and parts. They told me that parts supply was very low....

I contacted Japan Camera Hunter about this when I was considering buying a slightly faulty camera and Bellamy estimated about US$200 inclusive of his fee and return shipping. Not the greatest deal in the world but still somewhat cheaper than getting another one...

But I got my Ricoh Gr1s for $275 all in good working order. I remember the Gr1 cost only around $145 to $150 but now the price is very high. Still a very good camera to have and consider if you are into serious photography.
Goodluck Nick, I know you will find someone to assist you in fixing your precious camera. Keep us posted.
