Hello,

I'm thinking to buy 6 f-stop 64x ND B+W filter for some landscape pictures as I find the built-in 2 f-stop ND filter not enough.
Do you think I can combine both of them without much loss of IQ in order to achieve 8 f-stop ?
Have someboly played with screw-in ND filters on Ricoh GR?
I'm asking because B+W filter(s) is(are) quite an investment for me.

Thank you

Make sure first that you can actually make long exposures. In theory, if your tripod is rock solid and it is not hot outside, keeping the optimum f stop with ND filter on should not degrade the image more than any clear piece of glass would.

definitely do-able, I've used the GR with built-in ND filter and B+W 10-stop with great success

thing to consider, are you looking to use ND at 28mm or with the 21mm converter as there's a price difference between 49mm and 67mm ND filters.
Also, look into the Hoya Pro ND filters, IMO just as good as B+W

Amazing photo and many great pictures into your Flicr account!

Unfortunately right now the 21 mm converter is above my budget and I will use the 28mm.
As I saw in your Flickr, all of your pictures with B+W 10-stop are with the 21mm. Is there reason for that and do you think 28mm is good focal length for using with B+W 10-stop?

the 10 stop filter wont show any difference between 28mm or 21mm, just focal length preference.
l like my landscape shots wide but honestly 28mm is a great starting focal length.

these shots were taken with X100s + 28mm converter
