I know it's not a rf camera but it is well regarded and I hope someone here can help.
Whenever I turn on the flash the camera just dies, removing and replacing battery reboots the system. At first I thought it indicated a dying battery but now it occurs all the time.
Any repairable cause do you think or is it back to look for a replacement?
It's my favourite small camera and I would hate to be without one.

Have you tried a new battery? It could be that the old batter has enough juice to run the camera, but not enough to charge the flash capacitor, causing a drop in voltage resulting in a camera shut-down. If you have tried a new battery, there could be an electical short in the flash cuircuts that is doing the same thing as above. I'm just guessing here. I am not an electronics guy, nor do I play one on TV.

Thanks for suggestion, yes, that was my first thought but a new battery is no better, and I also tried a thorough clean of the battery compartment contacts. I suspect trouble in the electronics and will have to use the camera without flash until I can get a replacement at a reasonable cost - if anyone has one please send me a pm.
I just wondered f it was a known problem.
