Although I like Ricoh, without being a fanboy, I, personally, would probably choose the LX3 over a Grd2. The Ricoh have the better user interface but the Grd2 is still the model which is least liked among the current three Grd-models.
This is mainly because of deteriorations: slow AF (removed phase detection sensors) and very aggressive NR of jpegs, that can't be turned off, which begin to show off at iso 200 or 400. It makes it more or less to a raw-only camera to get the best out of it. However the LX3 is not a perfect performer either.
If it is a Ricoh Grd you want. Go for the Grd1 or Grd3 instead. While the raw-writing of the Grd1 is slow (approximately 9 secs as fastest. Depends on what card is being used)it is a very capable to produce grainy B&W images.
