Hi All,

I'm considering getting rid of my rarely used DSLR and getting a Ricoh GRD (with viewfinder) instead.
I currently have a GR1 and it's great to carry everywhere and has taken some really good pictures. I'm hoping that the GRD will be equally great for happysnapping without the cost of film incurred.

I'm aware of the lack or OOF capabilities on the lens/sensor and the noise issues, but its low light performance and general construction appeals.

I find the GR1 to suffer from some shutterlag which can be annoying. How does the GRD fare?

Also, can you use a non Ricoh viewfinder such as a Voightlander instead?

Cheers!

Bob.

there is a snap mode (hyperfocal) with no AF lag, and there is no substential shutter lag.

This way, you can compare lag with regular RF cameras.

and I use a voigtlander 28 VF on it. there is a 3:2 (cropped) ratio on the GRD if you want. Usually I keep the 3:4 native ratio, frame with the 3:2 finder and some time have good surprises on the non cropped sensor area.

I have a GRD, shutter lag in Snap focus or Manual focus modes are close to non existent. Maybe 1/2 sec?

I would recommend you to check out the new GX100... lens is both wider and longer!
