Seems like Ricoh GRII might be coming soon.
Do you think it would be a 28mm like always, 35mm, 50mm or a zoom?

I love my GR 28mm and I'm hoping for a 50mm . It would be a Great 28/50 combo

GR series has been 28mm single focal length as kind of a tradition other than the GR21 in the film days. Although I am a fan of 35-50mm range, it will be weird to see GR in that focal length. It just doesn't fall into GR philosophy IMHO.
Either way, I love my GR and will likely get GR "6" when it comes out, keeping the GR, giving it to my wife.

They also made a 40 fov adapter for one of the film versions didn't they? I would love to c them do a 40fov adapter or a gr w/ this focal length myself...but right now I doubt it.

There is also a crop mode to achieve 35mm and 50mm in the GR, at the expense of resolution. A real 40mm f2 would be great.

I use the 35 crop mode a lot.. The other one rare since there it leaves very little pixel info left. The 40 to 50 ish crop mode would be more useful when they do a 24mp sensor, which maybe what this new announcement is all about. But I would prefer something that is a 40ish perspective in real glass as well..

Looking forward to this! Just got the GR a month ago & I'm hooked.

It will be 28mm. They wouldn't change that at this point. If you don't want 28mm, you don't buy the GR (or you deal with clumsy add ons or crop modes). The crop mode for 35mm makes the sensor similar in size to m43 (though a different aspect ratio). Great news though since the GR is the only pocket digital I like anymore.

I really don't know how they would improve this camera other than putting a updated higher MP sensor in it.

Well maybe make it all weather. But that would entail changing the retractable lens design

Found some old GR II rumor:
Upgraded sensor, but still APS-C
Redesigned lens with better focusing
Touch screen
Wi-Fi
New grip design

A real 40mm f2 would be great.
Well maybe make it all weather.
Combined you two are describing my dream camera! A digital Muji II! Maybe Panasonic will make a large sensor tough camera with their 20/1.7 design -- that would render similar to a 40/3.4 in full-frame.

I had GRDIII in the past and love the UI, feel in hand and compactness. But I am just not 28-only user it seems ...

I hope they don't mess around with the UI and control layout. Especially if they are thinking of putting in a touch screen

• Wi-Fi
GR has Eye-Fi UI and I use mobile transfer all the time. Hoping Ricoh will implement a good Wi-Fi with maybe RAW transfer as well.
• Battery
I actually like USB charging they put in GR. Including the dedicated charger would be nice though. Battery life could be a bit better but probably that's because I use Eye-Fi all the time. Maybe if Wi-Fi function becomes built-in and the power management will make the battery life impact to a minimum.
• 40mm tele-converter
28mm EFOV single focal length is GR's tradition. A tele-converter to make it 40mm EFOV would be nice.
• GR21
Repeating the history of film GR, maybe it's time to release GR21 with 21 EFOV lens? (with 18mm or 15mm wide-angle converter and 28 or 35mm tele-converter?)

I'm going to guess :
(+)
24 Mpixels
IS
Pixel shift hyper resolution
WiFi
Limited weather/dust sealing improvements.
(-)
No tilt LCD ( would add too bulk )
No EVF
No fast lens ( would add bulk )
No to 21mm or 40mm lens ( 40mm would be especially nice )
No to monochrome
Lousy video ( not really care anyway )
I started with the GR1 and went on to buy every GRD model and GR over the years - so the chances are I will probably fall in line again.
But the GR, as it is, is really rather good - I don't know why I need to upgrade.
