Hey all!

wondering if anyone has any experience with this optical viewfinder. I'm looking at acquiring it as focusing my avenon 21mm on an M8 is proving to be a bit of a challenge. Hoping that the GV-1 will be accurate but I hear reports that it's biased to the right side because of the in built flash on the compacts.

Anyone can confirm this?

Thanks in advance!

Well, it will probably be designed to be a bit closer to the lens, but the frameline certainly will not be offset to the side - the Rico GR/GX digital series have the accessory shoe centrally above the lens. In any case the difference is marginal for a wide finder, given the small offset distances and huge field of view - you'd have to worry more (and will positively need parallax compensation) on tele aux finders.

They actually have the hot shoe over the lens, but the finders, made for the GRD do actually have an offset foot, placing the finder more to the right side "off" the lens axis

Why? To clear the pop up flash, which sits right next to the hot shoe :bang:
