Ricoh GXR Clearout?

On a side note, I find the grain less annoying than the grain from my 60D for some reason. I can't put a finger on why though. Again, purely from my S10 experience. I'm sure the A12 will be a whole new experience.
 
I was too slow in deciding and now they're all sold out (had one in the basket just yesterday!). :bang::bang::bang:

Anyone here have buyer's remorse?

That is a good price. Now if they just had the M module for under 300 (wishful thinking, I know) :)
 
yesterday at my local shop in Duesseldorf I had a discussion with a person with Ricoh background.
All Ricoh cameras except the GRD xxx will be discontinued in the near future......

Ricoh bought Pentax but the camera division of Rioch is so small compare to Pentax this move makes sense in the eyes of the management.

At the moment this buy out will be the last chance to get one of the best and user-friendly systems in APS-C sized sensors with M-mount and very capable mounts of Ricoh origin.

try and get one from Henry's in Canada (see original post in this thread).

A very generous fellow member here helped me acquire one and it is in the mail now. I expect to pay customs duties and will have around EUR 300 into it by the time it arrives :cool:

I bought a second body of that same seller myself and expect that to check in this week.

All I need is a second VF-2 (hoping to fund that next month) and I will be the happy owner of two sets! YAY!

In the future, whenever I run into spare bodies or kits (preferably with the 28mm and 50mm primes) and I can afford them I will scoop them up.

The GXR line is going to sustain my digital photography for years to come. I might pick up a used M9 cheap in six, seven years time when everybody is on the bandwagon for something newest and greatest, but only if there is no viable alternative available by then.

Not sure I understand.... I still c them available, just that everything is w/ a delay of some sort... My 24-85 a16 order was suppose to be on the 7-14 week delay... I ordered it about 8 days ago and I got notice about it last Thursday... That my order had shipped.

When I first started looking, a lot of items were readily available. Looks like Henrys can still get more from Ricoh and the comment about only the grd xxx line makes sense I am afraid, which is why I also broke down a bought a backup body.

No there's definitely GXR items available, but I'm just interested in a body and the m-mount module. Neither appears anywhere in any search.

Body and M mount seem gone from their website. Direct link to the old page turns up an error, and they are not in the search results. I called them to see if they would pop back into stock but have not yet heard back.
 
Looks like it is no longer available. This is the information I got.
"Good afternoon,

Unfortunately, the GXR Body and the M Mount have been discontinued. We will not be able to obtain any more product.

Christmas in March.

Today the mailman brought a parcel from Robert, containing two books and a GXR Mount unit.
Two hours later a nextdoor neighbour brought a parcel from the UK, delivered to her in my absence by UPS. It contained a spare body I purchased from SRS Microsystems!

Now I need to save up for an extra vf-2 next month.

Still, I gotta admit, the books were the best present that the March Santa brought! But that's a whole other story.
 
...just bought the GXR + M-mount from SRS. It's a great deal but I feel like such a f*&%ing idiot for missing out the Henrys big steal...
 
I just recieved my GXR and S10 kit from Henry's last night. The M module was back-ordered but the assured me that it was coming.
My first impressions are that it is well built and probably take over the role of my Canon G12 for my happy snaps when on vacation. Can't wait to get my M mount module. I am probably going to be ordering the EVF once I get back from Roatan.
 
I took delivery of a GXR + M mount two weeks ago form Henry's and have been enjoying the kit very much. It's an affordable alternative to a M9 for shooting with M mount lenses.:)
