Wanted to share - recently got winder PG-4 for Ricoh SLR, and while it works, I feel it doesn't provide ideal grip.

Accidentally I discovered Ricoh made another thing for XR bodies - Motor 3

I know it's BIG, HEAVY, HUNGRY BAD ASS BEAST, but SLR is natural to shoot that way. For silence I have RF's. This looks like a proper thing, adapted also for vertical use (both grip and second release button).

GAShiva, please send me listing on ebay 🙂

follow-up on this:

Some time after expressing wish of having this winder, I got one. It appeared to have a flaw. Later i got XR-X (XR-M) body which has internal motordrive, and mind you, in Continuos mode it churns 3 frames per minute vs 3.5 of Monster Motor3.
I agree Motor3 gives good grip but alas...it also makes body much bigger, and with 8 AA's inside, also much heavier. Unless you specifically need separate release for vertical grip or plan to use remote battery pack for cold weather probably this is the case when progress won? XR-X takes 4 AA's which may go flat before 8 AA's and yet they power whole camera, but XR-X officially works on rechargeable AA's so one can carry spare set, fitted in another battery case for faster replacement (if speed would be an issue).
