I am an amateur and have never sold anything. I have an opportunity to put up some prints at a friend's cafe. It would be nice to sell something but I don't really care about that; it would just be fun to exhibit the prints. She said to include prices in the event someone wants to buy something as others have sold prints when showing them there.

A few of the prints, my favorites and possibly the best, are of a band that's not big-time but appears to be an established local band in NYC, together for years, etc. I took the photos at a public street festival a couple of years ago. My question is do I have the right to sell images of them without a license from them? What about just exhibiting the prints and indicating they're not for sale?

You can sell prints for personel use. Indeed you can sell the digital image on a Rights Managed basis with appropriate license restrictions (i.e. editorial use). Stock libraries feature many such images devoid of model release for just this purpose.
What you cannot do is sell the image as Royalty Free.
