I'm taking a trip across America and looking for advice on places/things to check out along the way. It will be a friend, my girlfriend, and myself.

Basically, Santa Clara, CA ->Nevada ->Arizona ->Utah ->Colorado -> Unsure but less important.
We want to focus on the west and try to hit up National Parks and do a little camping along the way. Of course taking photos the whole time! Anyway, looking for suggestions of great spots to check out, especially hidden gems. I of course want to hit up the typical stuff like Yosemite, Grand Canyon, and Zion, but I like off-the-beaten-path stuff just as much. Also, any other broader suggestions are welcome too, good photo spots, food, other interesting places, etc.
