I just thought I'd write a little review/thank you to Robert White.

I ordered my RF645 (see the thread titled "I HAVE THE RF645" for a lengthy review AND pictures of the camera) from Robert White less than a week ago. Trelawny Burt over at RW helped me out, was very communicative, and checked the camera over for flaws (like viewfinder misalignment) before sending it. The camera came in perfect condition, well packaged, everthing in its place. They sent the camera out on Tuesday afternoon, and I (here in Los Angeles) had the camera in my hands at 9:15 AM Thursday. That is just about a day and a half in post from England. Impressive for a large box and only 56 GBP (about $90) post. It cost me $60 just to send a package about 3/2 that size to an RFF member in MO from here.

RW included all the paperwork, everything nicely packed.

Wow. Thanks RW.

Yes, that was my experience with Robert White too.

The order was made late Tuesday morning and the camera left there a little after lunch. Nicely packed and well-documented. And I got a mail with the UPS tracking number.

It's the sort of Amazon.com experience of photography.

Robert White give a great service. I have previously placed separate orders for at least 2 Voigtlander lenses and a camera case and the packages have always arrived next day in good condition (but then I am in the UK).

One and a half days to LA is extremely impressive delivery service

RW are very good, I popped over to see them late last year with an old buddy who was looking at a Hassy H1 or an M7 outfit (long story) and Trelawny was very helpful.

It was then that I got the chance to check out the differences between the R2 and R3a (the R2a was not out then) to compare them to a used Leica M7. It's arguable that it was then that I really got caught by the RF bug and it was only a matter of time that I'd own one.

Nice one RW.

Lexus? You mean sort of floating around on a cloud and totally disconnected in particular from the road beneath you? 😉

Yes, the ride is "cloud like" until you need the power - and then "baby" my Lexus performance "kicks" right in.

I divide driving b/w a BMW 330Ci (always "on performance") and a Lexus R300.

The former is always "there" but always needs "awareness". I love it!

The latter is "laid back" most of the time, but "there" when you need it to be. I love it!

Long live Toyota/Lexus and long live BMW.

Got milk? 😀
