RobGalbraith shuts down.

I hope RFF never comes to that. My only concerb, believe it or not is what would happen if I were to die? How would RFF continue? I have no disaster plan for the continuation of RFF.

If you're concerned about snuffing it, a term life insurance policy or an annuity of some kind combined with a will would take care of that, wouldn't it? I dunno, I'm no lawyer, but it seems that such things can be done if that's what is bugging you.

Jorge,

Don't talk like that! We already gave Joe a Heart Attack!

DAMN WE ARE PINTA's!

We all wish you a long and happy life!

Sincerely,
Brian

There's a lot more to this than meets the eye.

Some of it had to do with, as is my understanding, some nastyness that somehow found it's way into the forums surrounding a thread on Medium Format vs Digital and one Mr Michael Reichmann (yes, he of that Luminous joint).

The thread has about 22 pages to it to give you an idea of the length - many of the posts were deleted or removed by the mods accordingly.

Galbraith's forums were the worst moderated forums on the net with the possible exception of DPReview.

They were alternately iron-fisted and then lax. Capricious. Especially Mike.

I'm not sad to see them go. This is the Internet. Someone will fill the void and life will go on.

Hi Tom,

I post or participate at at the DPReview forum, though mostly at the Kodak SLR part of that forum, and have never seen any example of Moderator's interference at all... Though it is my understanding that things are quite a bit rougher with the other sections of their forums.

DPreview's Kodak SLR forum is something special, just as I've been finding this RFF to be just as good if not better, being a new member and all. I'm certainly glad to have discovered this forum for Rf camera users.

RG's on the other hand, I don't think I'll miss all that much.

Regards,
Kev

The forums are back, with new management. Drew is a fellow wedding shooter. I don't think he knows what he has gotten himself into.

1. I agree that the loss of RG wouldn't be a big deal.
2. I wouldn't say that DP is the worse. Possibly the worse concerning photography but not the worse in general.
3. I once admined a site with just a few hundred users. Traffic was less than 50k hits per week. It was a nightmare. A larger site generating income off of banner ads, yes. A smaller site for the fun of it, never again!
