Robot Royal storage "Cranked, or Uncranked"

Should a Robot Royals winding motor be left Cranked or Uncranked when your not using the camera for a few weeks?

I'd wind it as if for permanent storage. That is, keep it neither fully cranked nor fully uncranked - at the ends, either way, the coil is most likely to bind in ways that require disassembly. The spring binding is the only thing you need to be afraid of, contrary to the legend springs do not "lose their force" in regular use.

It does not matter. With spring wound cameras like the Bolex one used to advise against putting them wound up in storage but that was 1) for long term storage 2) for a camera with a larger and thinner spring 3) perhaps also not necessary.
The Robot Royal/Recorder steel spring is reasonably stout and not terrible long. Especially for short terms (a few weeks) leaving it wound up should hardly have any impact on "spring memory". Slightly wound-up is probably the best.
In other words: just don't wind it up before putting it away. For shorter term use its probably best to wind it up so its always "ready to shoot". One should try to avoid shooting a Robot until its spring is completely unwound. Between shots its best to wind them up.

Thanks guys, I was storing it unwound but i've missed some shots that way. From now on it will remain wound.
