I'm about to head off to my first Rodeo since childhood in Wyoming. I would love to see some of your best Rodeo images.

Thanks for the photos. Really amazing athletics. I doubt that many on this board have attended a rodeo.

Getting close enough to capture the action with a rangefinder is a bit much of a push, but perhaps those attending will prove to be good subjects.

I think one should keep in mind that the "rodeo photo" need not be the obvious shot of what it happening out in the ring but very well may be what really happening behind the scenes. Ditto, air show photos need not be just of planes flying overhead. Horse show photos not just of horses strutting their stuff (I am married to a high level competitive equestrian as well as having a high level competitive grand daughter)

Just take a look at the published media of sporting events. You will find very few of the cliche shots but many that express the photographer's talents of showing the viewer some new perspective.

I saw a real, homegrown, local guys-and-gals rodeo in New Mexico a few years ago north of Sante Fe. What a hoot ...
