Rodinal 1+25, pushing...

Hi,

I am going to shoot Tmax400 @1000 (ISO max. is 1000 of my Yashica GSN).

Developing time of Tmax400@400, Rodinal 1+25, 20C, is 5 min.

Developing time of Tmax400@1600, Rodinal 1+25, 20C, is 11 min (it works great!)

What would be the developing time Tmax400@1000, Rodinal 1+25, 20 C???

I would say around 9:30-10 min.

I asked a question about pushing the other day and was informed that apparently rodinal is not the best for pushing, I have yet to confirm this experimentally but just thought you should know.
Do post some samples ! 🙂

It isn't, but I've done it loads anyway and kinda liked the results. I used to shoot HP5+ at 1600 and develop in 1+100 for 90mins. I really liked the results, but I'm not quite sure any professional would.

Exactly. You have to push further, because the true ISO is lower, but so much depends on lens, technique, metering, etc., that "liking the results" is what matters.

And bear in mind that the results professionals like are the ones that sell. Sod the technicalities. If it looks good (to the client, too), it IS good.

The photo should be seen now. Sorry for the earlier faulty link. The photo was taken at the end of December in Finland. Usually at the time there is a lot of snow and the lakes are covered with ice. But not at the end of year 2011... My friend and I went fishing, but did not get anything but this photo 🙂
