rodinal in canada?

Hi All,

I just googled for rodinal in Canada and didn't find anything promising. I checked a few stores in montreal this past weekend and none of them had it either. Has anyone had any luck finding a source for rodinal in canada?

You can try Royal Photo on Maisonneuve, they might have some left, or Photo Service on Notre-Dame. I sort of remember Photo Service still having some a few months ago. If not, give Kodak HC-110 a try, not the same as Rodinal, but a great developer.

Henry's in T-Dot has it (500ml) listed on their website. Probably a few other places have it as well.

(nextreme, with all due respect, HC-110 may be a good developer--I use it, but much prefer D-76--it really can hardly compare to Rodinal's unique look)
 
Oops. Sorry. I spoke to soon. If you click on the product on that page it says:

"Not in stock - Usually ships in 7- 14 business days. This product is on order with our supplier and we expect to have stock again shortly."

Might be worth a call as it could really be only a temporary out of stock. Freestyle Photo here in the US carries it but frequently runs out for a few days off and on.
 
Thanks for all the suggestions :) I'll check the rest of local stores and if that doesn't work I'll try mail ordering from TO.

Need to revive this thread. I haven't been able to located any rodinal in Montreal. I'm pretty sure all the stores are out of stock. Henry's lists the item as being on back order, so that doesn't seem too hopeful either.

I will be in Burlington, VT in a couple of weeks. Does anyone know some stores down there that might carry it? Short of that I could mail order it and have it delivered to the hotel I'll be staying at. I would order directly into Canada but apparently these chemical don't ship across borders.

Sean: If you fail to find it, let me know. I will be crossing the border soon ... perhaps as early as 12/2, for sure the weekend of 12/15. I have extra (small bottles) and can send you some. PM me if you need some.

Downtown always has an ample stock of Rodinal - they seem to be out of Ilford DD-X (or whatever that Ilford D-76 developer is..) lately.

Jan, thanks for the suggestion. I have emailed downtown camera to inquire on their stock and whether they could ship it to me.

I think it's id-11, their equivalent of d-76. I've never tried dd-x...

Nah.. I think it's DD-X - it's the "liquid concentrate" version of D-76 :)

I know ID-11 is the powdered version of D-76

Thanks for all the info, everyone. Downtown camera was able to ship me 2 500 ml bottles.... should do me for quite a while!
