Rokkor return ?

I just realised that SLR lenses will work on my M8 .
Thanks to Roger Hicks , I found out that a Minolta adapter is available .

OK , it's a real return to the bad old days , with no rangefinder coupling , but the 24 mm / 28 mm , maybe the 35 / f 1.8 should be useable . The 85 f 1.7 ia a bit of a monster , and focusing will be AN ISSUE - but the joy of the M 8 is being able to take instant test shots . [ I would not even try on a III c , even if an adapter is available ]

I can imagine using the 135 mm solely at infinity at an air show !

It's a bit wierd that the M 8 , by chance , is one of only two digital cameras , and the only current camera, whereby I can use my Rokkors .

That's awesome.
I just got a cheapo adapter for my Nikons to use on my Canon XTI. The Minolta adapter is $50 for it (vs Nikon's $7.00 adapter). I guess the Rokkors are better made.
I can't wait to use my rokkors on a digital. I have a bunch of Rokkor macro stuff.

This is very intersting news for me! Last night i bought a Minolta camera with 35-50-135mm Rokker lenses at a x-mas party... for very few kroner..
After I read your post I tried to put a Rokker lens on my M8. But it wouldn't fit.
Do I have to use an adaptor, and where can I bye them?
Hope you will be more specific about this interesting topic.

I have recently bought an M42 and Canon to LTM adapter that allows me to use these SLR lenses on my Leica gear. I have tried 28mm and 35 mm lenses (zone focusing of course) and they seem fine. I have not yet tried using the M mount adapter in addition to the SLR adapter so I can mount them on my M bodies. But I expect to try this soon. I am rather attracted by this style of shooting because of the extra options it provides. Pentax, Canon and Nikon all made excellent manual focus lenses that might be fun to use on Leica rangefinders when the opportunity affords itself. I dare say Minolta did as well but have no experience of them.
