Thanks for posting these...I like it when yomeone tries to achieve retro results. In this case keep the carpet! Ugly carpets and even uglier curtains ara a keay element of some 50's pics. It's interesting how often to imitate the cheap 60's-60's motel atmosphere turns out to be very expensive!

john neal said:Harrison Marks!! Wow that's right - a master with B&W pinup work. I recall we spent months trying to get hold of one of his films on 16mm when I was about 15. When we finally got it, all the good bits had been burned by the previous owner pausing the gate for ages
I just noticed that the board filter edited my earlier post - no doubt a PC filter in case of potential rascist comments, unfortunately my use of that work was in the 1960's engish reference to "neat & tidy".
Yes, that was "Sp*ck and Span" magazine - I have a few of his mags laying around here someplace, he made up a whole bunch of them - I really enjoy the old stuff...wish that I could get over to the UK to shoot some work, I have connections to quite a few Retro PiNup gals over there as well as a motorcycle museum and countless old cars etc.

PS: Here`s one of my faux magazine tributes to English "Girlie" mags with Eden
(she was English and came from Sheffield/North UK) she used to live in Orlando, Florida though - this was shot on digital with Eden together with a 1969 BSA 650 Lighting Motorcycle

I've used two Canon 50/1.4's. A little soft at F1.4 compared to a Nikkor 5cm F1.4, at the center of the image. The Canon has better flatness of field. Of course, this may be one area where focus on the face and some curvature of field has an advantage.
