Roll Paper - best practices

Ned, I did a little test with my paper which I read somewhere earlier.

I tore a sheet of paper in half, developed one without exposing it to anything the usual way and the other half just went to the fixer straight away without Developing and Stopping. This was to check the paper for any fogging.

I do see a very slight difference between the two and to be honest when I just look at it, I see even less of a difference than what the iPhone shot below shows. But undeniably there is a difference.

Does this mean the paper is slightly fogged? I don't see any gray (again looking at it in person and not so much the shot below) - just some slight very slight yellowing.

I also read somewhere that almost any paper - even brand new - will show the same as the developer does something even to a perfectly white / unexposed sheet of paper.

What do you think? Do I still need the Benzotriazole? Your reference to BZT made me carry out this test to see...
