Rolleflex Standard Film Wind

Hi,

I have just got a Rolleiflex Standard (Model 622) in very nice condition. Can anyone confirm that there is no "interlock" between shutter and film wind on this camera. It seems that I can Multi-expose or wind on without exposing. Or is there something wrong with my camera or technique?

I have a Rolleiflex Standard New (Neu), a later model than yours I think. When I first got the thing I had a terrible time understanding the loading sequence.

This is what I do. Try with a roll of junk film and experiment etc. (this is what I had to do)

-Load the film
-close the film door, see the little red film widow on the bottom?
-wind the film on 'till #1 is visible in the window. You can keep turning it to the end of the film so don't.
-close the red window (if it has a shutter, I think some don't)
-camera is cocked and ready for the first shot.
-after the first shot wind the crank it should stop at #2
-etc.

I have a 622 (that sounds better than 'Old Standard' to me) and can confirm that the film wind and shutter cocking are not connected. On mine, serial # 342736, it's possible to expose each frame an unlimited number of times or simply run a roll through without exposing anything. No interlocks! Pay attention!

Victor - we have the same model and that is exactly what mine does. So - glad to know that's the way it is and as you say I need to be careful!!
