Hi all,
I just bought a Rollei 35SE with a 128bc flash included.
Does anyone know if this flash can be used with a Leica M6, Mamiya 6 and Hasselblad Xpan? I'm worried about frying one of my cameras.
Thanks,
Nick

I'm not an expert, so standard disclaimer applies, but:
As the shutter in the M6 is mechanical, should it not be fine? No electronics to fry...

Nick,
If it's a mechanical camera you should be ok. You can check it with a multimeter but I have a feeling that the trigger voltage is over 100V. Why? Check out the other Rollei flash units on this chart:

It's best that you get a Wein Safe Sync HSHS if you are going to use the 128BC on anything that is not 100% mechanical.

RJ, thanks for the links - I use a Canon 20D as well, so that list is useful.
I guess from Mark's and your comments that meters aren't affected by excessive flash trigger voltages.
Cheers,
Nick

Nick,
All you do is charge up the flash and touch the probes of a multimeter (set to read voltage) to the 2 contacts on the bottom of the flash unit. That will fire the flash and give you a reading. There's more information here:

I wouldn't use that Rollei unit on any hot shoes that had more contacts than this one:

I doubt that flash would be useful with the XPan unless you're shooting in standard 35mm mode. There probably isn't enough coverae for a panoramic frame.

Hi RJ,
Sorry, I meant the camera's light meter.
