My much-loved Rollei 35 has a little dent in the same place, so welcome to the club! You were lucky that the pressure plate hinges didn't get bent, as they are a real weak point.
The Dented-Rollei-35 club definitely has more members than the undented one

I am quite surprised that I managed to shoot twenty rolls in the Rollei 35 this year (one is still to be developed). The output is not as pleasing as in former years, but it is still fun to use the little Xanthippe.
Why Xanthippe?

Yes, I learned that from Wikipedia. I was just surprised that you feel that way about such a cute and uncomplicated camera!

Cute and uncomplicated, yes, but at times not so nice. Overall maybe a too harsh verdict, but I like colourful metaphors.
Edit: I am of course blaming the camera for my mistakes;-)

Simple can be very frustrating, I grant you. I admire your discipline - I take mine out only when I can't be bothered with anything larger.

I used a Leica IIIf with 50mm Elmar for a year. Then I used a Leica M2 with 35mm Summaron for a year until I added a 90mm Elmarit. It was easy to restrict myself to a one camera, one lens outfit at the time: it was all I had! That made it real easy. No equipment decisions at all.
