nice shots, zeno.
i tried digital only for more than a month after the repaired x100 came back from the shop. it seems far more difficult for me to get something i want to keep from the digital camera. the x100 is wonderful, though, for family and events.

You got some great shots from the X100, Paul.
It´s not about the output of digital cameras for me, the gear just doesn´t feel right in my hands. (But knowing myself, I´m sure the switching between digi and film will last)

thank you, zeno. i have some good ones that fit my vision, but even the best ones don't quite breathe like the film ones. could be my imagination, or the tactile aesthetics of a film body/lens ...

I have always loved the look of the Rollei 35. A German one turned up on our NZ online site and couldn't resist. Pick it up tomorrow and hope to soon contribute to this thread.

I got a 35 S recently from ebay listed as 100% mech sound as had a CLA. Well i just got the first roll back - Light leak, Missed frames, Overlapping frames AND a scratch on the rear element eeeek!.
I contacted the seller and got an immediate refund which was nice. I have another one on the way though. Despite the bad experience, shooting with it was so much fun! and from what i could make out of the frames that turned out it is sharp and the colours looked great..
Will start posting some pics as soon as the next one gets here, fingers crossed!!!

I have a 35S and it's really one of those fun cameras to have. At 2.8 and when the focus is on: magic. Despite a ding on the side, it has never given me any issues.

Just picked mine up and loaded some Tri-X. Doesn't have a battery but I will take my light meter. Sunny day here and will wait for sun to get a bit lower and take this little darling for a walk. What batteries are you using?

Mine came with a battery, was so keen to get shooting i didn't check the type. I was planning on using my little digisix meter as it's so light and tiny it's not a problem to stick it in my pocket if i need it.

No battery for my Rollei, I´m exposing by sunny 16.

same as you. IMHO using a/the meter is against the philosophy of Rollei 35, not to mention that very often the meter is not accurate and misleading anyway.

I regard the meter readings from my 35 as general suggestions...

There is a nice 35S on eBay that I am not sure I can resist. Really Like my Rollei 35 but have always been a sucker for Sonnars. A couple from my first roll.

I´m getting bored more and more by the convenience and the possibilities of digital photography. Shot and developed a roll in my Rollei 35 today and it was a really good feeling!

Yes, me too. The more I use film, the more I like it. And it seems easier to me to make pleasing images on film than with digital. Go figure.
