Petronius, your photo output have a distinctive aesthetic which seem to somehow magically match this sexy little Rollei 35 from the past. Inspiring.

That "glow" in your images... Is it the (absence of) anti-halation layer in the Polypan film, or the lens of your Rollei needing some cleaning? An "interesting" look, but also destroys shadow value separation.

Nice blog. Reminds me, in a way, of the work of Bernard Plossu.

Thank you for your kind words!

BernardL, the lenses are clean. The glow comes mostly from the Polypan. By exposing and PP I let the shadows often keep their secrets. Thank you for mentioning Bernard Plossu. I never heard of him before. I will surely explore his work!

Nothing wrong with the pics -- quite lovely in fact, but I see nothing especially special about pics taken with a Sonnar. I fell for the lure in the past, the special qualities they're alleged to have... but after finding pics taken with that design to be nothing of note optically, I no longer care or go out of my way for one.

Kinda a let down. Like the first time you drink absinthe in your youth. No green fairies and the effects no different from your average gin.

Just an info: Most of my Rollei pictures are made with Tessar lenses. I don´t see a big difference between Tessar and Sonnar. A special look from a lens was not my intention when choosing the Rollei, as can be read at the start of this thread.
I hope that the choice of subjects and the exposing scheme is more important for my photos than the choice of the camera.

Well said! The last thing I think of when I see one of your images is "what camera / lens was this taken with?" The first is always, "How did he see that?" Your distinctive approach is always front and center.
