So another newbie Rollei 35 question, the one I got is an SE and I got a manual with it from KEH which has this sorta addendum that mentions an aperture lock below the wheel. Mine doesn't seem to have this, and it's just free spinning. I'm wondering if they were made like this for awhile before they added it in (hence the addendum to the manual). Going to shoot with it but I'm thinking that since I grab the camera right around there, it's going to be hard to keep from inadvertently adjusting the aperture. Do the earlier S models have more resistance in the aperture dial?

I overlooked this aperture lock on my recently acquired 35SE as my manual was only in Italian. It is much smaller than you might think, and almost disappears when retracted. If there is a small pin below the aperture wheel that's what the locking tab will engage when locked. Doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would come off easily- not without mucking up the camera in an obvious way.

I was always spinning it before I figured this one out- would finally get the meter happy and then would change it trying to compose!
