Rollei 35 vs 35 T any practivcal difference?

It's my understanding that the 35 and the 35T are the same. They added the "T" when they came out with the 35S to differentiate the two.

There are 3 variants, all of identical quality.

They are:
  1. The Original: made in Germany and has a larger back release latch than the others.
  2. The first Singapore version: production moved to Singapore with a very few minor changes.
  3. the "T": cosmetic change only. Adds the "T" designation to distinguish the model from its then new "big brother", the "S" model with its f/2.8 "Sonnar" (Sonnar in name only as the optical design is more correctly an Ernostar design, the lens from which the real Sonnars evolved.)

There are some differences. Some of the Singapore models use a plastic gear in the film advance. That gear can be damaged by forcing the film advance at the end of the roll.

Some late Singapore cameras use a very thin top plate - much too thin, I think.

The Rollei-made Tessars have a better lens coating, I think, than the early Carl Zeiss lenses. I think the Rollei-made Tessars are multi-coated, while the Carl Zeiss lenses are single coated.

Optically, I doubt that you'll see a difference.
