What is your opinion on which is preferred. Which would you prefer? Zeiss Tessar or Schneider?

Don't know about the 35, but F&H contraccted with Schneider to fill in (Xenar) where Zeiss couldn't keep up with demand (Tessar) I think they are virtually identical. I think the name Tessar swings some weight in the matketplace, but it's just that Zeiss held a copyright on that trademark.

coating could be a bit different but I doubt it effects output as much as actual present condition of the lens.
Same story as the rolleiflex lenses ... .Xenar vs Tessar. Condition is key.
Would be hard to tell image output from on to the next with a clean undamaged copy.
