Always Trying
The wait is over today it came brand new in the mail.
Just before Easter
lots of time to shoot, i was surprised how different the Rollei (Bessa 2) and the Bessa R are. the close focus goes to 0.7m and i think the rubber feels better, will take some pics over the weekend. can't wait for the result.

It's a good camera, but the rangefinder arm is too tightly sprung, which can make focusing stiff.
I didn't realize this until I got my Zeiss Ikon. On that camera, the lens focuses very smoothly. I didn't understand why the focus action was different until I inspected both cameras.
I agree that it's an excellent lens.
The camera is an improvement over the original R -- more metal, less plastic. And being a Cosina product, the viewfinder is very large, bright and easy to use, especially if you wear glasses.
I find the Rollei 35 RF/Bessa-R2 to be the ideal size. If there was one thing that I would do, it would be reduce the size of the Zeiss Ikon, which is very close to the prewar Zeiss Ikon Contax II. My preferred size is the postwar Contax IIa.

Shiny! I've seen the lens mentioned quite often in the past weeks, it seems to be quite special. Have fun shooting, and share some pix with us
